Daine is one of the few individuals burdened with a channeling disability, a rare condition that prevents her from safely wielding magic. Attempting to channel magic from within her body would cause her to collapse and in some cases this could be fatal. Yet, this profound limitation hasn’t stopped her from rising to the challenge of leadership. As the leader of the Shadows, Daine has proven that true strength isn't defined by magic. Despite her disability, Daine guided the Shadows to safety during turbulent times, forging a peace alliance with Fiona that once seemed impossible. Her leadership and resilience have honored the legacy of the now-gone Shadow king and queen, making them proud of the strong and compassionate leader she has become.
