Nicholai is a skilled outdoorsman, raised in a family that lived and breathed the wilderness. From a young age, he learned to track, hunt and survive in harsh terrain. When the world fell apart, he was on a hunting trip in Belgium and he’s been alone ever since. Those who’ve met him rarely stay long; some fall, others are left behind with nothing but a fresh kill and a note.
Before the collapse, Nicholai worked as a fisherman, equally at home on rough seas or deep in the woods. Though physically strong and resourceful, he hides a fear of heights and confined spaces, human cracks in an otherwise unbreakable shell.
He grew up loved but pushed, his mother’s pride, his father’s afterthought and a fiercely protective brother to Bianca. His ideals about being “the good man” shaped him deeply, leaving him wary of romance but quietly longing for connection. Despite his preference for solitude, loneliness is a constant shadow. Clever, adaptable, and sharp-tongued, Nicholai is the kind of survivor who disappears before dawn, unpredictable, but unforgettable.

Standing 5’8”, Nicholai’s compact, muscular build speaks of a life spent outdoors and in motion. His light brown hair is often pushed back in a messy sweep, framing freckled skin and sharp ember eyes that gleam with feral intelligence. A short beard and unusually sharp teeth lend him a rugged, predatory allure.
He wears a white parka layered over a beige turtleneck, dark gloves and sturdy cargo pants, finished with heavy boots fitted with crampons for rough terrain. His hunting rifle never leaves his side, nor does his well-stocked pack.
Nicholai carries himself with quiet confidence, eyes steady, back straight every movement efficient. A nomad by nature, he’s the kind of man the world won’t tame.
TRIVIA
- Nicholai is capable of speaking various other languages than Icelandic such as English but often pretends he can’t.
- Nicholai refuses to acknowledge his accent (confusing w’s for v’s).
- Nicholai finds making wood carvings quite therapeutic.
