“When yer thrown overboard, they don't get to know how ye got back to shore.”
Once a ship’s medic with a steady hand and a quiet sense of duty, Lucien Bitumine is now something far more dangerous and far less human.
What remains of him is bound within a cursed bracelet, a sentient force known simply as Bi. Where Lucien once used his strange, unspoken talents to hold people together, Bi now uses those same instincts to control, manipulate and survive. He does not remember who he used to be.
But pieces of that man still linger, in the way he understands the body, in the way he speaks, in the way he… almost cares.
Bi is loud, chaotic and opportunistic. A trickster with sharp instincts and a sharper tongue, he rarely lies outright, preferring instead to twist truth just enough to guide others where he wants them. Bound to his current host, Clyde Viridis, Bi walks a careful line between ally and parasite. He keeps Clyde alive… but never for free.
ALIAS Bi, Lucy
SPECIES Curse (former Human)
AGE 36
BIRTHDAY 13-03-1683
WEIGHT 56 kg
HEIGHT 169 cm
In the physical world, Bi exists only as a bracelet, an unassuming object at first glance, yet unmistakably unnatural upon closer inspection. Its surface is marked with faint, intricate symbols that seem to respond to magic, occasionally emitting a dim green glow. Whether this glow signals awareness, attention or intent is never entirely clear… only that it is rarely a good sign.
When exerting influence through a host, his presence becomes harder to ignore. Veins may darken and shift with a sickly green hue, movements grow just slightly off and traces of corrosive, living slime begin to manifest where they shouldn’t. It is not a clean possession, it is something far more invasive, creeping beneath the surface rather than overtaking it all at once.
In the spirit realm, however, Bi reveals something closer to what he once was.
He appears as a young sailor, Lucien, compact in build, with a stubbled beard and a crooked, disarming smile missing a tooth. His green eyes are striking along a torn left ear, a remnant of an old injury where a feather earring once hung.
His clothing reflects a life at sea, a torn green-striped shirt, worn brown trousers patched with vibrant green stitching, sturdy boots and a sash tied at his waist. There is nothing grand about it, nothing theatrical, just the look of someone who worked, survived and belonged to the deck.
And yet, that image is not untouched. Corruption has shaped how he presents himself now. When Bi leans into what he has become, his form shifts, less sailor, more spectacle. A dark, tattered captain’s coat drapes over him, gloves cover his hands and a worn pirate hat sits atop his head, marked with a symbol that carries meaning he no longer remembers. A slick, slime-stained feather juts from it, echoing something long lost. Even his hair, once a warm brown, has turned an unnatural green.
Still, despite everything, there is something undeniably charismatic about him. A presence that draws attention just as easily as it unsettles.
SLIME
Controls a corrosive, living slime that can bind, erode and reshape matter. Can also form temporary structures or reinforce a host’s body. Strength and scale depend entirely on available magical energy.
CORROSION
The acidity and aggression of his slime fluctuate with his emotional state, anger and instability make it significantly more dangerous.
POSSESION
Gradual control over his host, begins with thoughts and suggestions but develops into partial control and can reach full possession under the right conditions. More effective when the host is weakened.
SLIME-IFICATION
Can “hold a body together” beyond natural limits, preventing death at the cost of long-term corruption. He becomes the one thing that keeps their heart beating, without him they fall apart.
MEDICINE
Retains instinctive knowledge of anatomy, herbs and treatment.
- He's literate, a scholar, can read and write, though he has no memory of learning how.
- His abilities were once used to stabilize injuries, not harm.
- The bracelet reacts to magical environments and artifacts.
- Speaks as if he’s always in control, even when he’s not.
- Retains knowledge from his past life without understanding its origin.
- His torn ear is a remnant of a past encounter he no longer remembers.
- Despite everything, traces of a healer’s instinct still surface… in unsettling ways.
