Born in Leuven, Belgium, Kedves grew up in a structured, religious household alongside his younger sister, Alize. Though highly intelligent, he lacked direction in his early years, coasting through school while causing frequent trouble.
In early adulthood, he moved to the Netherlands, studying art and briefly embracing a more chaotic, expressive lifestyle. It was during this period that he became known for graffiti, often working in bright, clashing colors and multiple languages. He formed a close bond with a fellow student, Marcus and the two became inseparable for a time, sharing in reckless habits, late nights and a lack of clear purpose.
That phase ended abruptly with Alize’s death.
Kedves abandoned art entirely, returning to Belgium to study medicine, specializing in urgent care. From there, he entered military service, progressing through training before joining the SFG.
By the time of the outbreak, Kedves was already operating in high-risk environments. The collapse did not create a soldier out of him. It simply gave him purose, once more.

Joseph Kedves is an imposing figure, standing at 6'6", his presence alone enough to command attention. His build is lean and functional, shaped by endurance rather than bulk. Pale skin contrasts with light blue eyes, though protected behind the goggles integrated into his helmet, replacing the glasses he once wore.
His dirty blonde hair is worn longer and tousled on top, with shaved sides and back, balancing practicality with a hint of personal style. Subtle piercings line his eyebrow and ears, small remnants of individuality that survived both military life and the collapse. A tongue piercing occasionally catches the light when he speaks.
His uniform is standard issue: camo, cargo pants, reinforced vest, helmet and black combat boots. Sleeves are often rolled or shortened, exposing strong forearms and gloved hands.
